Effects of the surface of solar-light photocatalytic activity of Ag-doped TiO2 nanohybrid material prepared with a novel approach

Surface modification with a nanomaterial has been confirmed to be an effective strategy enhance the visible-light photodegradation efficiency of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2-NPs). In this regard, we used silver as additive into TiO2-NPs improve their activity under visible light irradiation. Here, novel and eco-friendly process was developed prepare Ag-doped TiO2 nanohybrid named photon-induced method (PIM). The XRD technique showed that prepared mixed phases anatase rutile. However, rutile-only phase detected for pure at 700 °C calcination. Ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) absorption spectra revealed reduction in energy bandgap after Ag doping. Besides, addition resulted significant improvement morphology. Methylene blue (MB) dye chosen organic target investigate photocatalyst TiO2-NPs. degradation rate MB found 100% TiO2, which is higher than rutile TiO2. incorporation plays role stability performance due surface plasmon resonance phenomenon.
